Veterans with PTSD, kids at risk, and people with developmental and physical disabilities are strengthened by the healing programs Stride Ahead has provided for 10 years at Little Creek Farm (a part of the DeKalb Co. park system). Just 3 miles from the Decatur Courthouse, Stride Ahead provides therapeutic modalities available nowhere else inside the Perimeter. Our programs alter the trajectory of lives. The growth of self-awareness and life skills that horses teach veterans or kids at risk, or the joy and freedom of riding for a paraplegic, or the confidence to guide a 1200-pound animal that our autistic students experience have profound and durable effects for our clients.
